Pond Partitions, also known as pond baffles or pond curtains, provide discharge water that's in-compliance and low in suspended solids. They work by allowing treated water to be retained longer in the initial treatment pond, eliminating the problem of "short-curcuiting" from entrance to exit of pond.

Mark I vs. Mark II

The Pond Partition Mark I is recommended for small lakes, pond, and areas protected from strong currents and high winds. It is excellent for sea wall construction due to light weight which makes it easier to deploy and remove than heavier silt barriers. The Pond Partition Mark II is recommended for rivers, streams, open lakes and bays.

Application Examples

This pond was loaded with suspended solids (brown clays). The Pond Partition increases retention by channeling water over a greater distance. This allows more time for suspended solids to settle.

The inlet and outlet of this pond are only eight feet apart. Before Chemstream installed Pond Partitions, treated water entering the pond was permitted to exit with little or no retention. The Pond Partitions allow 95% more retention in this first of three treatment ponds.
